This is my weeks worth if groceries plus some stock up for future weeks. And it all cost me 43.21!
10 ears of corn, jug of milk, mouthwash, an orange, cookies, mayo, napkins, 4 jugs of purex, eggs, coffee creamer, cantaloupe, coffee, 8 packages of fat free franks, 4 boxes of pasta, 4 boxes of cereal, 2 packages of turkey smoked sausage, 2 packages of string cheese, 2 packages of bacon, 6 cans of tuna, hot dog buns, 2 blocks of cheese, coffee filters, (2 nesquick were free so why not), toilet paper, yogurt, bbq sauce, spaghetti sauce and 5 lbs of hamburger.
Usually I buy three sunday papers to get coupons(one per person in the household that eats) and that costs me 6.75 to use maybe ten coupons out of each newspaper. So 30 coupons for 6.75? I was starting to lose money because even though I cut them out didn't always mean me using them because I just didn't buy food that we don't eat.
I always buy whats on sale, if its not on sale I dont buy it. Period. If I have coupons to boot, even better! This week I hit the jackpot though thanks to a new website I found! Thecouponclippers.com I read reviews on this before I went any further and the only thing I found that people were saying is that they dont want to pay for coupons. Well thats what you are doing when you buy a sunday paper! Instead of buying my usual sunday paper I decided to try another method. I matched what was on sale to coupons on the website. Bought the exact coupons that I needed for what was on sale that week so I got the most bang for my buck. At checkout I paid 4.43 for over 50 dollars in coupons. So did I pay for coupons? Yes. BUT I pay for them every week anyways, and now Im saving even more money and wasting less time going through the newspaper, clipping them out and deciding which ones to keep! I am so happy with this website I cant recommend it enough!
I love looking at grocery shopping as a game. I love the feeling of handing over all of my coupons at the end and seeing the total come down from 120 dollars to 43. It cant be beat! Wait, I take that back...The look on my husbands face cant be beat!
Ahh..now off to look at how many points I have accrued at the grocery store so I can get 40 cents off a gallon of gas. Just one more way to save!
